Who We Are

Seplat Petroleum Development Company PLC is a leading Independent Oil & Gas exploration and production company in Nigeria with a 45% participating interest in and operator of the Oil Mining Leases, 04, 38 and 41. The company was formed by two Nigerian E & P companies (Shebah E & P and Platform Petroleum Limited) were registered as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the acquisition of the assets. On 1 June 2013, SEPLAT entered into an agreement with Pillar Oil to acquire a 40%, participating interest in the Umuseti/Igbuku Fields (OPL 283). In April 2014, SEPLAT heralded a new era in oil and gas business in Nigeria with the successful dual listing on the Nigerian and London Stock Exchange.

What We Do

SEPLAT is a leading indigenous exploration and production company currently operating in onshore Niger Delta basin Nigeria. The company has a 45% participating interest in 3 oil blocks (OML’s 4, 38 and 41). Seplat is the operator of the 3 blocks on behalf of the NPDC/SEPLAT JV. The Oil production from these operated assets has grown from 14,000 barrels per day at inception in 2010 to the current gross production from operated assets is circa 60 Mbopd. Gas production is presently 110MMscfd. Production is mainly from 5 Fields (Amukpe, Oben, Okporhuru, Ovhor, and Sapele Fields). Production from Umuseti Field (OPL 283) is currently circa. 2,500bopd with net share to Seplat of 1,000bopd.

Consequently, the company embarked on an outreach to promote the philosophy of “Shared Value”. In what is generally acknowledged by industry watchers as a landmark achievement, shortly after the company commenced operations in 2010, we signed a Global Memorandum of Understanding (GMoU) (regarded as a model) with our host communities
